Concerning morality, for a number of decades the world has been descending faster and deeper into a dark abyss. Now, having reached a level of so-called freedom, laws are in place that legitimise and safeguard individual rights that permit individuals to behave as free modern-thinkers. Finally, the community is now free to think and do whatever they see is morally right for their lives, without seeing themselves as accountable to anyone!

Today’s so called modern-thinkers say, “There is no God! We are free from having to adhere to a strictly by the book approach to life. No one has the right to determine my moral values – I will do as I please.” Such a thinker does not stand alone but enjoys the company of an alarmingly large number of other like-minded individuals.

Concerning morality, a strictly by the book adherence to life is believed to have reached its ‘use by date’- deemed no longer progressive enough to help society keep in step with a rapidly progressive and changing modern world. However, a strictly by the book approach to entrusting our lives into the hands of an aircraft pilot is expected… and demanded! Long before pilots ignite the engines of their aircraft, they must follow a strict and lengthy checklist of the aircraft’s instrumentation… affirming the aircraft’s air worthiness. Regardless of any passengers thinking or feelings about this discipline, this strictly by the book adherence MUST be observed, or else! The ‘or else’ is too horrifying to imagine.

A strictly by the book duty-of-care is also demanded by us of our politicians, police, medical practitioners, food producers, and others. Why? The well-being of our lives depends on this.  

There’s an overwhelming number of books in our libraries today. While we do not have to adhere to all of them, we should adhere to those that have been tested and proven to be ‘essential to living’ healthy, satisfying, meaningful and fulfilling lives. At the top of the list of such ‘must read’ books is the Bible… authored by the One who created the universe, you and me – the One who knows us well and who loves us enough that He sent His Son to die for us!

God’s duty-of-care for you and me is dependent upon our strictly by the book adherence to His word, the Bible! An eternity invested in Heaven or spent in hell will be the consequence of your decision, and of mine. Are you a strictly by His Book adherent?
