How will Planet Earth be destroyed? Through the continued burning of fossil fuels? Nooo… Never! Governments of the world, move aside, at a time that is fast approaching God will be The Invincible Planet Terminator! Planet Earth belongs to Him and He has determined its destruction. Governments can frosh at the mouth all they like about global warming but nothing and no-one can alter His plans.

The Book of Revelation details how God will destroy the world in which we live. John recorded there will be: Wars everywhere (6:3, 4), Famine everywhere (6:5, 6), Death of billions of people! (6:7, 8), Earthquakes everywhere – presently doubling every 10 years! (6:12-14), Fire – One-third of the earth will be set on fire, one-third of the trees will be burned, and all the green grass will be burned (8:7), Sea life polluted – One-third of all things living in the sea will die, and one-third of all the ships on the sea will be destroyed (8:8,9), Contaminated drinking water – One third of the water will be made bitter and many people will die (8:10,11). Heavens lights reduced – One-third of the sun will be struck, and one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars…they will become dark (v 12).

These eight celestial and global calamities will be but an entre of the overall banquet of woes God is preparing that will signal the beginning of the end of the world as we know it. Each calamity will take place in succession, with increasing intensity… giving notice and opportunity for mankind to repent. How will the world respond to this horrific series of events? John recorded, “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory” (16:8,9).

Friends, this will not be the first time that God takes such a drastic ‘final solution’ action against sinful humanity. Several thousands of years ago, with the exception of Noah and his family, the world was devastated by a world-wide flood. From the very moment Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden our planet was slated for destruction… That’s bad news. BUT, FOR THOSE WHO ARE WITH GOD THERE IS NOTHING BUT GOOD NEWS! God is creating a new heaven and a new earth… A Paradise-Perfect for repentant, redeemed sinners… God’s precious, beloved children… His family! (21:1, 2.)

Save the planet’ sympathisers would be delighted to know that nothing and no-one will be able to pollute the new earth that God is creating. Global warming will no longer be an issue of concern… Passionate, present-day ‘save the planet campaigners’ can channel their enthusiasm from protesting against governments to praising the Lord! Their energy and enthusiasm would be better-directed against Hell-warming! Hell is the place of the fiery lake of burning Sulphur where those who reject God will spend eternity… a place of tormenting fire that will never be extinguished (20:10).

God has given every person freedom to choose to either perish with this present world or to be promoted to a new, perfect and everlasting world. Jesus says, “To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life (21:6). Sadly, more people today are thirsting after a perishing world than Jesus, the refreshing Spring of Living Water (John 4:10).
