Satan wasn’t at all happy with me in the lead-up to the release of the Special Edition Article 001: ‘Putin… Satan Personified’. As was expected, I experienced a degree of spiritual buffeting from him. Apart from briefly disrupting my relationship with my wife, I experienced doubt as to how well the article would be received by DOW’s subscribers… from you.

Friends, there are many perspectives from which the world is viewing the current situation in Ukraine. In my reporting on the conflict, my eyes, mind, and heart have been wide-open to a number of reputable news sources with a desire to gain a balanced understanding of the crisis… saving me from wild speculation and error. Several responses to the article have been received that shed additional, valuable light… strengthening our understanding and guiding us in our prayer support.

Pawel (Paul) from Poland wrote, “Dear Bill, Thank you. I cry almost each day seeing on TV and internet what is going on with Ukrainian nation. More than 2 million people already fled. Around 1.2 million in Poland in 2.5 weeks. We hardly cope with such an influx… most of them are woman and kids. We’ve had a huge diaspora of Ukrainians in Poland for several years, around 1 million. Lots of men have left Poland to go for war in their own country… Again, the women are left behind. There are many believers from the East in Poland as well, mixed marriages mostly with Ukrainian wives marrying Poles. 

Russian forces bombarded obstetric hospital with pregnant women. They killed kids! I cannot imagine it. One pregnant mother was not able to deliver her baby… she miscarried.  Russian military have killed such precious gifts of God. Grief in heart although trying to explain it to myself that I should not hate Russians and this man (Putin).  We have a Ukrainian Christian woman in our cell group at church.  She is emotionally broken having her family still in Ukraine. We try to comfort her. Poles supported massively Ukrainians. We’ve known Russian oppression for years – We’ve suffered a lot from them. My great grandfather fought against Russian Bolsheviks/communists in 1920-21. Thank you for what you wrote.  Devil uses people! And they will lose one day. We are in the army of Jesus Christ – In this army, we cannot lose, we will always win, whatever happens. Paul”

Friends, I have known Paul for 18 years. He’s a former high-ranking police officer with the Polish police force, and with Interpol. He has vast experience in dealing with conflicts and strife, more than enough to give much credence to his perspective of what Satan is doing through Putin.

I don’t hate Putin… I’m praying for him. My hatred is directed at Satan, the evil-mastermind… the author and conductor of the Russian campaign to destroy Ukraine and the slaughter of many innocent people. Satan is ‘the’ enemy… He is ‘the’ destroyer of human lives!
