Small Groups – more than just a program

SmallGroups is not a program! Biblically functioning Small Groups are vital to the life and ministry of a healthy, loving, growing church – complementing and completing the Sunday “large-body” worship celebration.

A healthy church can be illustrated by a cake that is covered with icing. The cake represents the place where meaningful community takes place in the small group setting and the icing represents the place where the whole church gathers together, as one large-body, to worship God and celebrate His goodness and greatness. Note: It is the cake that supports the icing – meaning,  an intimate community is what produces a vibrant celebration, not the other way round!

Small Groups provide the biblical context for meaningful fellowship, discipleship development, and sacrificial service. Small Groups is the church!

Friends, we just want to point out that the term “Small Groups” is often used interchangeably with “Cell Groups” – we have tried to be consistent throughout the website and used the term “Small Groups”.
