I first met Elijah in 2018 when I commenced service as an interim pastor of the Newman Community Baptist Church, Western Australia. He and his wife, Luisa, facilitated the youth ministry. Eli is a Samoan national, and his wife is Tongan.

At that time, Eli was working for BHP Billiton mining company as an apprentice heavy equipment diesel fitter. He worked 12-hour days, rotating shifts.

Eli stood out to me as a gentle, warm-hearted, people-person… committed to serving God. He was so easy to like and partner with in ministry. Eli is a gifted musician, songwriter, singer, and preacher… a great all-rounder!

Since meeting Eli, God has done a special work in his life. In January, 2023, it was my privilege to induct Eli into the role of pastor of the church!
