Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lam. 3:22-23).
The Bible is full of wonderful assurances that God pre-destined us and chose us to belong to Him. Before we even acknowledge Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives, He is working in the background showing us His grace in ways that we are not even aware of. This can be called “prevenient grace” … a grace that God lavishes on us before we even realise that He is showering us with His love.
“The Lord called me from the womb; From the body of my mother, He named me” (Isa. 49:1b).
God’s love for us is forever … it is unconditional … it is endless … it is without compromise.
He loves us when we are in the depths of despair; when everything around us seems to be going wrong; when we feel like we’re drowning in hopelessness. And, He is there when everything is going great.
For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, “Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you” (Isa. 41:13).
How can we doubt God’s goodness and faithfulness to us. Paul says, “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” (Eph. 3:17,18).
We live in a fallen world where sin and lawlessness abound BUT the goodness of God cannot be disputed because of the price Jesus paid on Calvary. This is the greatest gift ever.
Knowing that God’s love for us is constant and unchanging brings such peace–the Hebrew word is “Shalom” and means peace, wholeness, completeness.
If you are struggling to find peace in the midst of turmoil and uncertainty, meditating on God’s word and taking in the truth that He is holding you in the palm of His hand (Isa. 9:16).
Worship is also a key to establish the love of God in our hearts. Worship is not just singing songs on a Sunday in church. Worship is a lifestyle; so when we fill our hearts with gratitude, the overflow will come out in our speech. Worshiping God takes us to new heights and helps take our eyes off the surrounding circumstances.
As we keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of our faith, may you experience His love like never before.
