Michael W. Smith’s song, “Sovereign Over Us,” reminds us all that regardless of circumstance, God is greater and higher and above all.

No matter what is going on around us – or within – and no matter how desperate we may feel at times, the truth remains that God is Sovereign.

2 Samuel 7:22
^“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is none like you; we have always known that you alone are God.”

These powerful lyrics echo how we all feel at times – if we are to be totally honest.
Despite all this, the truth remains that God is with us no matter what.

Hebrews 13:5b
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

May I encourage you to worship the Sovereign God as you listen to this song, so that you, too, will be able to say, along with Joseph when he was reunited with his brothers
in Genesis 50:19-21

 ^“But Joseph replied, ‘Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you?  You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.  No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.’ So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.”
