Giving some serious thought about the cross as we approach Easter causes me to reflect on the seriousness of this incredible sacrifice that Jesus paid for you and for me.

I remember watching ‘The Passion of the Christ’ movie and being absolutely horrified at the cruelty and outright unfairness of it all.

That Jesus would willingly give up His will, to the perfect will of the Father, and die an inhumane and humiliating death so that guilty people like me could go free?

Unbelievable.

How is this fair?
It’s not!

How come I deserve this get-out-of-jail free pass?
I don’t.

Why did He do it?
It’s hard to comprehend.

Am I grateful?
Totally!

The only way I can reconcile this mystery to my finite mind is to try and understand the magnificent love that just oozes from God … through His Son Jesus and His sacrificial death
so that I can live eternally with Him.

Am I humbled?
Absolutely!

How can I ever thank Him?
Words are not enough.

Ok, if words don’t cut it, then my best attempt to show my gratitude for this amazing gift is to praise, worship and live my life in a manner that reflects the love given so freely to me.
