Dancing-on-Water would like to thank Pastor Sam Elijah, Lagos, Nigeria for submitting his 2 Part series which begins today and concludes tomorrow. He suggests 5 encouraging tips on how we can wait with expectancy for God to deliver His promises.
” Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 (NKJV)
#1. Wait on God: We have prayed and made our requests to God. Waiting on God is simply a demonstration of our continued faith and trust in Him to deliver what He has promised. We must not become too tired in waiting for God’s timing. “I cannot wait” is the language of someone who will not receive what they are hoping for. Please wait so you don’t miss out on God’s promises.
Waiting can be likened to someone who is waiting in a queue to get an essential service. They have to stay in the queue, or they lose their chance to receive whatever they need.
There’s no option but to wait on God. Job during his trial said that he would wait until his change arrived; and God honoured Job’s faith for all the waiting. There’s no end to our waiting on God! The good thing, however, is our reason for waiting. What we are waiting for today or tomorrow might be different from what we had to wait for yesterday.
Psalms 25:3 says: “Let none that wait upon God be ashamed! No one sees shame, except he did not wait upon God. So, wait be of good courage, I say wait on the Lord!”
#2. Watch Your Speech: I’d like to strongly warn everyone to watch what comes out of your mouth. As children of God, we don’t have the liberty to talk idly. No! We are not at liberty to speak in this manner. If we do not speak according to the scripture, it’s because the light isn’t in us:
20 Tell them to put their faith in the teaching and the Law. If they do not speak what this word says, it is because they have no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20 (NLV)
You must choose your words carefully. Your words can lift or destroy. It can build you up or tear you down.
