We hope you enjoyed Pastor Sam’s article yesterday: Part 1 of ‘You are Always on His Mind’. Today he completes his two-part series and challenges us to be totally committed to the One who always has the very best for us at the forefront of His mind.
The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great. May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children.” Ps 115: 12-14 (NKJV)
In another passage, the Psalmist said: “His thoughts are too numerous, they are like the sand of the sea.” Psalm 139:17-18 (ESV)
You should feel the same way the Psalmist felt and begin to understand how much value God has placed on you. I mean you! The very you reading this article. God has placed a high value on you. He can’t exchange you for anything else in this world. You are so precious to Him, that His son volunteered to take your position in death – yes! He died so that you could live!
He created everything primarily because of you and not for His personal gain. He didn’t bring you into an empty world. Rather, He made all things ready before your birth.
Beloved, the Lord is mindful of His people. His mind is full of you. How else can I help you understand? The word ‘mindful’, when broken into two, sounds like this: Mind + Full = Mindful.
This implies that His ‘mind’ is ‘full’ of you! You are His top priority, and He desires to lavish His love and attention – on you! Aren’t you glad that you occupy the mind of God?
What do you think God wants to do with your life? Turn you over to your enemies? Leave you to wallow in pain and poverty? Leave you to suffer oppression and rejection or even shame? No way!
So, what’s God’s plan for you? Increase!!! He’s going to increase you. Not a one-time increase, but a continuous increase. It’s repeated in the opening Scripture – more and more…
Reverential Fear: we remain in His thoughts as long as we fear and reverence Him. The fear of God guarantees us a place in His mind. He never loses sight of those who fear and honour Him.
“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” 2 Chron 16:9 (NLT)
Warning: this blessing of increase which leads to better days will only come by the FEAR OF GOD!
God’s increase isn’t for everyone. God is only concerned with those who love and fear Him. If you decide to love and fear God, you will experience God’s affection all the days of your life. The fear of God is the key to accessing His mind! How?
Love what He loves… And hate what He hates.
Believe and accept His only begotten son Jesus Christ into your life.
Be determined to worship and serve Him alone and, lastly, be committed to Him – have no allegiance to any other god!
