Today, our regular Guest Author, Marian Dyer, brings another cutting-edge word from the Lord, encouraging us to live counter-culturally in a world that would try to tell us otherwise….
Part of living in this fallen world involves betrayal, hatred, death, lying and deceit, for it is ruled by the evil one and this is his modus operandi. Every hateful, evil event that causes pain and hurt and heartache has its origins in the rule of Satan in this world.
I have overcome the world through my death and resurrection. I have come to bring you hope and joy in the midst of heartache and sorrow. This hope and joy are found through following Me and obeying My word to you. This is how you love Me, by following My ways and My example.
“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” (John 14:21 NIV)
My example is one of forgiving your enemies, those who hurt you and betray you. These things cause unimaginable pain and heartache at times. I know for I have been there.
Betrayed.
Crucified.
But I live.
And you live,
Because I live.
I have forgiven you so many sins, known and unknown.
“If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” (Psalms 130:3-4 NIV)
If I forgive you, you also must forgive others.
‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’(Ephesians 4:32 NIV).
I know it goes against the grain. It makes no sense in the natural, but in the spirit realm it is a mighty weapon. If you could just get hold of the revelation that this weapon, wielded in the spirit, undoes the enemy’s plans to undo you.
The trap, the jail, you find yourself in through unforgiveness is opened wide through the power of forgiveness. (Matthew 18:22-35)
It is for freedom you have been set free, so walk in that freedom through forgiving those who have so badly abused you and spat you out. I have given you a blueprint for freedom. Obeying My word on forgiveness sets you free.
