What will you Choose

As this new year of 2024 begins and resolutions are made
I wonder what each one of us will choose?

Do we stick determinedly to the resolutions that we have made … or do we give in and decide to put it off till next year?

Here are some of the New Year’s resolutions that came up on Google:
Start a gratitude journal; Make time for family; Build a better budget;
Cook something new each week; Read more books; Eat less; Exercise more;
Read the Bible in a year; Pray more; Worship more …
The ideas are endless … Do any of these resonate?

How strong are we?
How easily do we give in?
What choice will you make?

Here is a poem written by Joanna Fuchs that is really uplifting and brings great promise …

I’ll find new ways to serve others;
I’ll love my neighbour, too.
I’ll focus on “give” instead of “get”
In everything I do.

I’ll let go of my worries;
I’ll put it all in His hands;
I’ll repent and try to sin less,
And obey all His commands.

These New Year’s resolutions
Are difficult, at best,
But there’s something I can do each day
That will put my soul at rest:

I’ll love my Lord with all my heart,
With all my mind and soul,
And if I do that essential thing,
All the rest will be in control.

Challenging?  Yes … a great choice? Yes …

Proverbs 23: My son, give your heart to Me,
and let your eyes observe My ways”
(v. 26)

As you listen to this song which is a classic and never grows old,

may it become your prayer and your daily resolution into the New Year and beyond…

“I Give you My Heart”
